Oval portrait of Elmer David McLaughlin. When Elmer David Mclaughlin was born on 30 December 1888, in Dunmore, Pocahontas, West Virginia, United States, his father, Robert McLaughlin, was 50 and his mother, Mary Lydia Virginia Rusmisel, was 32. He married Ethel Edmonia Wilfong on 22 September 1911, in Highland, Marion, West Virginia, United States. She died in 1942. In 1947 he married Ruth Hudson Galford. Elmer McLaughlin died Sept. 23, 1979 and is buried in the Dunmore Cemetery.
