Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource ca. 1944 Description An account of the resource World War II military portrait of Corporal Oliver M. Sprouse of Frost, W.Va. Sprouse was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne serving in England, France, Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Holland and St. John’s, Newfoundland. He was captured by the Germans in 1940 and rescued. Cpl. Sprouse returned to his family in Pocahontas County at the end of the war. in 1945 after five years of service.
