The Pocahontas County Mountain Music and Bluegrass Festival was held in Huntersville, W.Va. from 1973 until 1983. In 1978 the festival was filmed by WMUL-TV in Huntington for the West Virginia Public Television Series "Sugar in the Gourd." The majority of the photographs in this collection were taken by the show's producer, Larry Hall.

Pearl Carter Ward, daughter of Marvin Clark and Levia Gibson Carter, graduated from Edray District High School in 1917. Taught in Pocahontas County schools until she retired. Collection contains family and friends photographs, correspondence and store records.

Description
An account of the resource
Frances "Fannie" Golden Overholt, Photo Album created in 1912 holds 175 black & white photographs. Subjects include: Students at Marlinton School, Outings, Price Family, Marlinton Businesses, Campbelltown, Richardson Family. Frances Golden graduated from high school in Marlinton and went on teach in Pocahontas County for many years. Her students remember her fondly as "Miss Fannie." The photo album is archived at the Pocahontas Co. Historical Society Museum in Marlinton, W.Va.
